Putting Action into our Grantmaking!
Helping with one-time expenses for organizations or programs
Action Grants are small grants intended to pay one-time expenses or materials for organizations/programs serving the Lake Tahoe Basin. In 2025, we increased the amount that may be awarded through Action Grants. These grants now range between $2,500 to $5,000 and are awarded quarterly by the Community Foundation’s Community Impact Committee, providing timely support to the direct need of an organization.
In 2024, 15 organizations received Action Grants and many direct needs were supported. Some examples of the impact:
Provided specialized ice making/maintaining training for curling nonprofit organization.
- Purchased materials for performance stage risers.
- Purchased veterinary surgical equipment used in animal rescue programs.
- Purchased snowshoes for programs supporting science in the Tahoe region.
- Purchased equipment for adaptive athletes participating in Tahoe programs.
- Purchased bench seats for a passenger van used in cross country ski education programs.
- And so much more!
Action grants are supported by donations to our Giving for Good campaign and strengthen our ability to meet community needs as they arise.
